POETRY
You can submit 3 - 6 poems. Send them all in a single Word file, single-spaced, with page breaks after each poem.
SHORT FICTION
You can submit 1 story, ideally between 1000 and 6000 words. Avoid Flash Fiction, as we have a separate competition category for that. Send the story in a Word file, double-spaced.
PHOTOGRAPHY
You can submit 4 - 10 photos of good resolution. They can follow of a theme or just be a selection of your best work.
VISUAL ART
We look for unique works of visual art. You can submit up to 10 samples. They can follow of a theme or just be a selection of your best work. They could be vertical or horizontal @ 300 dpi, preferably as jpg or pdf files. You can have a look at our issues from the beginning to get an idea of the kind of work we feature.
If you have some ideas for book/film/art reviews and interviews with writers or artists, please do send us a pitch to the email address mentioned above.
Response Period: If your works are selected, you will receive a response before January 15, 2024, with details regarding the publication schedule/date.
Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please do let us know when the works you have submitted here are accepted elsewhere.
We are unable to pay the writers/artists at this point.
However, all our Flash Fiction Competition winners are given cash awards and their stories that are published in Strands Lit Sphere.
