Strands International Flash Fiction Competition

Open Theme

Strands International Flash Fiction Competition - 23 is now open for submissions.

First Prize: $ 120

Second Prize: $ 60

Third Prize: $30

We hope to announce a few honourable mentions whenever there are more stories that we love to publish. The number of stories we choose for it will depend on the funds we have, as we pay them $20 each as well. Your entry fee is the sole funding we have for the prizes at the moment and it would sometimes contribute to a humble compensation for the otherwise voluntary work done by us to read, judge/select/edit and publish your works.

There are FOUR free submission slots available now.

We will update it whenever someone uses the Tip Jar option and helps us keep free submission slots available.

You can find more details on the Submit page.

All the winners of SIFFC will be published in Strands Lit Sphere.

Early Bird Deadline: February 15, 2025

Regular Deadline: February 28, 2025

RULES

The stories you submit must be between 300 and 1,000 words..

There is an entry fee of $6.50/€6.00/£5.20  for up to two stories.

The Tip Jar option of $12 allows us to offer free submission slots to those writers who are unable to pay the entry fees.

The stories must be sent as an email attachment in a single Word file. (More details in the 'Submit' page).

Use a reader-friendly font like Times New Roman, Calibri or Arial, 12 point, double spaced.

The competition is open to writers of any age, from anywhere in the world.

The stories you submit must be unpublished and written originally in English. No translations are accepted for this competition.

Simultaneous submissions are okay, but please inform us immediately if they're accepted elsewhere.

Please do make sure that you can receive the cash award via PayPal if you are adjudged a winner.
